Description: On 24 June 2025, the Department of Telecommunications published the Draft Telecommunications (Telecom Cyber Security) Amendment Rules, 2025 under the Telecommunications Act, 2023 (Telecom Act), inviting stakeholder comments. Broadly, the Draft Rules require telecommunication identifier user entities (“TIUEs”) to validate their customers’ telecom identifiers using a mobile number validation (“MNV”) platform established by the central government. The Esya Centre is pleased to be afforded an opportunity to provide its inputs on these rules.
