Expected Work: Interns will be expected to contribute towards Esya’s ongoing research pillars. This spans discursive opportunities for desk research and writing on pertinent issues/debates which intersect across future technology ecosystems.
Preferred Profile: Candidates should have:
An excellent ability to marry comprehensive research with analysis
An ability to take ownership of their deliverables
Ademonstrable interest in debates relating to the governance, policy design and regulation of new markets
An ability to study issues which have interdisciplinary dimensions
Eligibility:
Applicants must be in the advanced stages of relevant programmes in disciplines like law, economics, international relations/affairs, sociology, political science, public policy/administration, etc. If your discipline is not mentioned, we will consider your application if you can build a case for how your background can add value to our Centre’s work. Illustration of “advanced stages”: A student must have completed their 6th semester if they are enrolled in a five-year B.A. LLB (Hons.) programme.
Applicants must demonstrate academic interest and prior experience/credentials working on matters relating to the governance of future tech markets. Some relevant domains include competition, intellectual property, data governance, online privacy, information security and standardisation.
Prior publications in a relevant domain help us evaluate compatibility.
Applicants must have reliable internet connectivity and related facilities to work remotely.

There is no deadline for internship application as the program runs throughout the year. Interested applicants can apply at any point. Applications should be sent via email to contact@esyacentre.org. The subject line for the application mail should read “Application for Research Internship”.
Since we are a small team we do not have the capacity to acknowledge all applications. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
Remuneration: A monthly competitive stipend will be provided to selected interns.
